Jo Sonja's All Purpose Sealer

All Purpose Sealer 250ml

For pre-sealing and priming almost any porous surface including wood, canvas, unglazed stoneware, bisque, card, paper and treated metal. Use to prevent moisture loss from absorption into the surface. Use also to promote good adhesion of the paint.

Jo Sonja's Retarder Medium

Slow down the drying time of acrylic paints so you can have longer to work on the piece. For Antiquing, allow your painting to dry for 12 hours, then apply Retarder Medium mixed with your final colour choice. When no wet spots are visible, wipe off where you want the highlights.

Gel Retarder extends the drying time of Jo Sonja's Artist's Colors. It allows an extended working or "open" time for blending and a thicker application of color can be used in painting techniques.

Jo Sonja's Flow Medium

Flow Medium 250ml

Reduces Jo Sonja's Artists' Colours to produce paint with excellent flow control capabilities. Suitable for long strokes, liner work, calligraphy, fine detail and air brushing. Add where thinner paint consistency is required. (Water has a dilutive effect on the pigment and the adhesive qualities of acrylics and should not be used in large amounts).

Jo Sonja's Crackle Medium

Create 'porcelain' crazed effects over completed paintings. When dry, emphasise cracks by rubbing over with a darker colour. Apply reasonably thickly with a spreading action rather than brushing. Do not overwork. May be sanded smooth when dry.

Use this medium in conjunction with Jo Sonja's Artists' Colours to create bold, graphic, crackled effects between layers of paint. Patterns can be varied depending on the thickness and brushing direction of the top coat colour.

Jo Sonja's Stroke & Blend Medium

When added to your palette colours it will lubricate the paint, allowing easier brush strokes. Paint will feel creamy and will remain 'open' longer than usual allowing more time for blending and detail. It should be allowed to cure for at least 3 days before attempting to apply a water-based varnish. Mix with Jo Sonja Colours to create a dilution similar to bottle colours.

For transparent color layering, linework and detail painting. A light sealer similar to Clear Glaze Medium contains extender for longer "open" time or blending time. Dries to a matte sheen.
